Challenges & Ideas for 2016 Part 5

It's day 5 of my challenges and ideas for 2016 posts. Only one more day left, then we'll be counting down the seconds to the ball drop and the start of 2016. Is everyone exited for the new year coming? I still can't believe how fast this year has went by; everything seems to have happen in a blur.

So this year, I've read 102 books. I had set a goal to read 100 books in 2015. I was so excited when I got to 100 and then read book 101. I didn't think I was going to make it to 100 because I only read like one to three books for about three consecutive months. I felt very accomplished when I close the gap of how many books I was behind by, then actually got ahead of schedule. Last year, I didn't make it to my goal of 100 books; I had only read 76 books. Which is much more than all the books from all the collective years before 2014.

In 2016, I want to read 150 books. I'm hoping that if I read as many books as I did some months this year next year, I'll make it to 150 books. I'm glad that I found the site GoodReads in 2013 because it definitely helps me keep track of the books I have read. Does anyone have a certain amount of books they want to read in 2016? How many books did you manage to read this year? And was the amount you read higher or lower than what you expected?

Challenges & Ideas for 2016 Part 4

Welcome to day 4 of my challenges and ideas for 2016. Today is an idea I had on an old blog I had and I'd like to bring it to this blog. It will be a themed post multiple times a week. I may decide to make it an every day thing, but I am not sure yet.

I decided that I should probably find a way to keep everyone updated in what I am doing as far as when it comes to reading in between my review posts. I have come up with the idea to post words that I have learned as I have been reading a book. To not make you all have to go through a long list of words (if there happens to be too many words that I did not know before looking them up), I have decided to do only one to three words per post. Every post will also have the name of the book in which the words have been found in. I think this may be interesting because I can share some of the words I've learned with all of you, and maybe you all may learn a few words as well. I'm sure some of you probably know more words than I do. I hope you all will enjoy these posts.

Challenges & Ideas for 2016 Part 3

Hello everyone. How's everyone doing tonight?

So, tonight is day 3 of my challenges and ideas for 2016. This time will be a challenge that I want to set for myself for the upcoming year. I want to finish at least three series that I started prior to 2016. I have a huge habit of starting a series and not finishing it. The only series I have ever finished is the Hunger Games series.

The three series are The Lying Game by Sara Shepard, Pretty Little Liars also by Sara Shepard, and Private by Kate Brian. In all three of these series, I have only read the first book. I've previously reviewed The Lying Game and Pretty Little Liars. You can see those reviews here and here, respectively. I haven't had a chance to review Private, but I plan to review it by the time I read the second book in the series.

Challenges & Ideas for 2016 Part 2

Hello everyone. It's day two of my challenges and ideas for my blog in 2016. Tonight is an idea of themed days. I'm thinking of doing two or three themed days a week, so each week will feature different themed days than the following week. The themed days I have come up with are: Movie Mondays, Teen Tuesdays, Wicked Wednesdays, True Thursdays, Fiction Fridays, Sexy Saturdays, and Scholarly Sundays. For those of you who are wondering what kind of content these posts will contain, I will explain with some brief descriptions for each day.

Movie Mondays: Mondays, as you can probably tell, will deal with things that have to do with movies. There will be spotlights on movies that may be coming out soon, or in the near future (no more than a year ahead). I may also included books on these days, but they will only be book-to-movie adaptations. It will be a way for some of you and myself to relate books and movies. I know sometimes that I am shocked to learn that some movies are based on books. No wonder some movies be oh so good!

Challenges & Ideas for 2016 Part 1

Hello everyone! Since it is the last six days of the year, I figured I'd use everyday to make a post of challenges and things I want to do for my blog in 2016. I hope you all will enjoy this and I would like to hear your feedback as well about my ideas.

Everyday when I get on GoodReads, I always check out the lists of books featured in the "listopia" section. There is this one list called, "Books That Everyone Should Read At Least Once." This list always intimidates me because the list has over 11,000 books on it and I've barely read a 100 of them. Maybe if I had read some of the books I was supposed to in high school, I would have more read. Sometimes, I consider myself a well-rounded reader and this list just smacks that thought right out of my head everytime I see that list.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Publication date: March 27, 2007
# of pages: 485
Genre: Young adult, Fantasy and Romance

City of Bones is the first book in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. This is the first book I've read by Cassandra Clare. I must say that I was a little on the borderline on how I would feel about this book and whether I liked this style. After finishing this book, I want to read the second book in the series, City of Ashes,

The main character in this story is Clary Fray. I loved how easy it was t remember her name because it really goes together. The story begins with Clary and her friend, Simon, going to a club named Pandemonium in New Work City. While there Clary sees three individual with weird tattoos an weapons, however, her friend Simon can't see them. I thought this was super weird.

After seeing them, Clary decides to follow them and ends up witnessing a murder where the body disappears into thin air.

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

Publication date: October 1, 2006
# of pages:  286
Genre: Young Adult, Romance, Mystery & Thriller

Pretty Little Liars, written by Sara Shepard, is the first book in her popular series called Pretty Little Liars. The book is fictional and intended for a young adult audience. It is also a very popular TV show series titled the same as the series. I have only watched the first season of this show. This is the second book I have read by Shepard. The first one being The Lying Game, a first installment in another series, which you can see the review of here. I love the way that Shepard’s novels pull me in to where I feel like I have to finish them. And Pretty Little Liars was not an exception to that.

Pretty Little Liars deals with friendships and secrets. The main friendship deals with four living girls and one we’re not really sure about her living status.

The Lying Game by Sara Shepard

Publication date: December 7, 2010
# of pages: 307
Genre: Young Adult, Romance, Mystery & Thriller

The Lying Game, written by Sara Shepard, is the first book in her The Lying Game series. This is the first book I have read by Shepard and I’m glad I picked it up. I actually found out about this book because of the TV show, The Lying Game, which is based on this book. I was very upset when I learned that the show was being canceled meanwhile The Secret Life of an American Teenager was still airing. I mean at this point I had felt like The Secret Life of an American Teenager could have taken a backseat and this show could have continued on. Anyways, I was heated about my show being canceled. I’m not the type of person that makes sure I’m home sitting in front of the TV at a specific time just to catch a new episode of a show. Usually, I just be like “I’ll catch it another time.”

Quiet or Loud? The Mind of a Young Lady

Heyyy everyone!!! My name is Brianna, but most people just call me Bri. I'm 23 years old (24 in about 3 months). I love to read, listen to music, write poetry, and do so many other things that you guys will learn over time.
Anyways, enough of all the boring details. Blah, blah, blah. I recently had three other blogs, but feeling overwhelmed I decided to dwindle them down into just one blog. Loving the Quiet or Loud? theme I had going on for one of my blogs (Quiet or Loud? A Book Reader's Thoughts), I came up with the name of this blog. Now all my thoughts can go onto one blog without followers of each specific blog missing out on anything I may be thinking or wanting to rant about. Hopefully you guys will enjoy such things.
